Hijama for Diabetes

Recent studies conducted by Unani Practitioners in India show that when Hijama is combined with other therapies for Diabetes, effectiveness of the therapy is increased for sufferers.

Hijama was administered every month on the 17th day of the lunar calendar in keeping with the “Hijama in Strength” principles. Symptoms such as polydipsia, polyphagia and polyuria were more improved in the treatment versus control group. The treatment group also showed improvement in wound healing, and lower blood glucose and cholesterol levels. This study confirms the findings of the Damascus study showing that blood glucose (and cholesterol) levels are improved with Hijama and therefore should be combined with regular therapies for the treatment of Diabetes Mellitus. This of course should be done in keeping with the principles and having Hijama every month should only be done if the climate is conducive to it.
